Welcome to POLSIS, one of the largest departments of Political Science and International Studies in the UK. The Department inspires and enhances intellectual development and enthusiasm for learning in staff and students alike.
In the most recent Research Assessment Exercise (2008), 85% of the research conducted in POLSIS was evaluated as being internationally recognized. The Department also maintains a strong position in the well-respected Guardian league tables, 7th in the UK for Politics in 2010.
POLSIS offers undergraduate teaching programmes, taught masters programmes and a highly successful doctoral programme, Many of our MA and doctoral students are from overseas, and they thrive in the diverse and research-active environment of the department.
